This study analyzed the effectiveness of the COVID-19 information panel function, which is fixedly exposed at the top of the web page when a keyword related to COVID-19 is searched on an online search engine. Specifically, it was attempted to analyze whether message interactivity, which is an interactive feature of the corresponding function, affects the intention of the COVID-19 prevention act through the contingency felt by the user. For the collection of samples, an online survey was conducted on panels with experience in using the COVID-19 information panel, and the mediation effect verification through a Process-Macro was used to analyze the collected data. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the message interactivity perceived from the COVID-19 information panel not only has a direct effect on the behavioral intention of the COVID-19 prevention, but also gives an indirect effect through contingency, confirming that it is in a partial mediating relationship.
